hat_mous_cl3 “Bill Wilson’s Imagination, determination, and creativity in putting together the twelve step program that worked for him and many others does not change the fact that he was influenced by white, male, middle class Christian values of the 1930′s.” An excerpt from Many Roads One Journey: Moving Beyond the 12 Steps by Charlotte S. Kasl.

Well isn’t that the cat’s meow! And I thought there was something wrong with me!

I am so happy lately as I have been discovering more and more people who intuitively know, as I do, that we are strong and capable beings with individual needs. They are not willing to admit that “We are powerless over our addiction” as Alcoholics Anonymous would pressure us to believe.

What a relief to know there are others out there who are finding success with alternative methods that helped them overcome their addictive behavior. The more of us who are willing to share about how we have overcome our addictionseither on our own or with alternative therapiesthen the greater the number of us who will have the opportunity to succeed.

Look forward to my new book, “From Death Do I Part: How I Freed Myself From Addiction,” to be released early summer, 2010.
